Our team at DEAFs Inc is truly ecstatic to finally start establishing the foundations of this organization and to get to know our future volunteers soon, all who will be a tremendous help to our cause. Our team and organization may be small now, but as we continue to gather outside help and build connections, we hope to expand our team to fill the gap that many Deaf folks dont have or have limited access to, such as interpreters, medical needs and much more.

Now how did we get here? And why start this organization in the first place? Our diverse team full of deaf and hearing folks noticed many discrepencies and limitations that the Deaf community were currently experiencing. This organization started by Dr. Rick McClain and his wife Deborah McClain, came up with the idea to create a non-profit to fulfill the needs that other organizations couldn't provide. Now that we have a team that shares similar concerns, we will continue to expand so that we can finally meet the goals of our mission, which is to be an organization led by education, advocacy, diversity and empowerment.

If you suddenly lost your hearing, what would you do and who you contact? Deafness and hearing loss is not concern we take lightly, as anyone can be susceptible to this. Whether the cause may be reaching a certain age or experiencing a head injury, we want to be your first call.

We may be small now but with your help, we can soon become an established organization to provide the services necessary for the Deaf community in southwest Florida.
